Esencial linens are designed to inspire. Founded by Celina Wright, a former Senior Designer at Mark Cunningham who helped launch his eponymous line - Marked. After working in New York for nearly a decade she moved back to her native El Salvador, her goal was to elevate the ordinary and make gathering around the table memorable. What began as a small online shop offering an edited selection of globally sourced treasures quickly grew a following. Combining her passion for design and textiles, Esencial’s linen collection was a natural next step. The fabrics are produced by the finest manufacturers in India and table linens are all cut and finished in El Salvador. Gathering around the table has always been a fundamental part of life. It is where big announcements or decisions are made, where stories and jokes are told. Esencial linens are meant to elevate the everyday. The Cosmo collection by Esencial is available in olive green and navy blue, both neutrals when it comes to tablescapes! Cosmos are native to Latin America. During the 16th century, the Spanish took these flowers from Mexico back to Spain where priests planted them in their gardens and were so taken by their beauty they named the flowers Cosmos, after the Greek word Kosmos, word meaning balanced universe and harmony. Despite the perfectly aligned petals of the flower, their stems and leaves tend to grow untamed, this juxtaposition is one of the reasons we were so inspired by this small but mighty bloom. Flanking either side of our patterns, large cosmo embroidery are two embroidered columns of smaller cosmos. The linear pattern is inspired by traditional Latin American woven ribbons, traditionally woven in backstrap looms. This pattern is available in navy and olive green with white embroidery.
