This assorted set makes each place setting extra delightful thanks to the rich burst of fruit, a different one centered on each plate, contrasted against the washed out blue and white geometric pattern. The iconic blue on white border motif, inspired by 18th century dinnerware recovered from a ship wreck off the coast of Spain, was designed by artist Isabelle de Borchgrave for Gien France with subtle effects of being washed away, touched by the effects of water and salt.
Faïencerie de Gien is accredited with the Living Heritage Company label, a mark of its pursuit of excellence and its creativity. Gien's story began over 200 years ago in the Loire Valley of France.
