The Royal Copenhagen Christmas Angel with Hymn Book is part of the five-angel orchestra, originally launched in 1955 in pure white porcelain. Royal Copenhagen now re-introduces the figurines in fading blue skirts and gold details. The ornament can be used standing or hanging from the string that comes with it. Each year, every piece receives a new style in the same blue under glazing used since the introduction of the very first Christmas plate in 1895.

When Dowager Queen Julianne Marie set out to safeguard her country’s economy by developing domestic products and services, she became curious about using local raw materials to improve local living conditions. Every piece produced is identifiable by its factory marks suggested by the Dowager Queen: three blue waves that symbolize Denmark’s three main waterways, the Sound, the Great Belt, and the Little Belt. The Royal Crown marks the porcelain's royal connection. The unique artistry and skilled craftsmanship highlighted in each piece show in the dedicated details that only a few can master. Fine brush strokes and the highest quality glazing contribute to making each piece of Royal Copenhagen a functional masterpiece.
